Job Title: Water Resources Engineer

Location: Mississauga, ON (In-office, 5 days per week)
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Team Lead, Municipal Infrastructure


About the Role

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join a growing municipal infrastructure team, working on one of Canada’s most high-profile infrastructure programs. This position focuses on advancing waste and water resilience initiatives, circular construction strategies, and the integration of sustainability standards into complex, large-scale projects.

The successful candidate will bring expertise in water systems, sustainability, and infrastructure resilience, with a passion for driving innovative solutions that make a lasting impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement waste and water resilience programs, including stormwater management and circular construction initiatives.

  • Ensure proper handling, recycling, and disposal of waste (including hazardous materials) at construction sites.

  • Review design deliverables to confirm integration of sustainable ecosystems, water harnessing, and pollution-reduction solutions.

  • Align program strategies with sustainability goals and ensure compliance with environmental and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor junior staff to support both project delivery and professional development.


Qualifications & Experience

Must-Have:

  • Degree in Engineering, Planning, Environmental, or Sustainability-related field.

  • Professional certifications such as PEng, CEM, LEED AP, ENV SP.

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in environment, energy, or sustainable design within infrastructure projects.

  • Proven experience delivering sustainability outcomes in large-scale, complex programs.

  • Strong knowledge of sustainable resource management, materials efficiency, and circular economy practices.

  • Understanding of decarbonization (Scope 1–3 emissions), climate risk assessment, ESG standards, and climate accounting.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience on aviation, transportation, or other complex infrastructure projects.

  • Familiarity with Canadian infrastructure and sustainability frameworks.

  • Experience mentoring or leading junior engineering staff.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80,000 and CA$135,000
