Job Title: Supply Chain Professional
Location: Burnaby, BC

Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Supply Chain Professional for their Burnaby location, for a one year assignment
Overview:
Category work, including developing procurement strategies, RFx events, RFIs, market sounding, facilitating stakeholder meetings, planning priorities and developing analysis and presentations.
Role Accountabilities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and advice to client groups within the line of business in sourcing, procuring, and managing a wide range of goods and services, particularly those with high value, high complexity, and/or high financial or political risk impacts.
- Lead cross-functional evaluation teams through the sourcing, vendor negotiation, and contract transitioning stages.
- Monitor processes with end-users to ensure services and materials are purchased effectively and in accordance with policies and directives
- Develop relationships with key contacts at all levels within the organization
- Accountable for determining appropriate sourcing methods, including the preparation and evaluation of contracting documents such as project procurement strategies, contracting plan, RFP's, RFEI's, RFSQ's, and RFQ’s.
- Accountable for maintaining integrity of procurement practices
- May be required to manage the subsequent contracts.
- May provide work direction to a team of procurement analysts and administrative support staff.
- As a member of the Business Group’s professional sourcing, procurement and contract management team, participates in the identification and development of business process improvements to enhance operational efficiency within the Business Group's procurement and sourcing function.
Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain or in an equivalent field
- A minimum eight (8) years progressive Supply Chain Management experience.
- Completion of a professional designation such as SCMP, ISM, PMP or CPA, is an asset
- Completion of a business-related continuing development program is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, negotiating, project management, planning and organizational skills
- Solid understanding of contract development, competitive bid law and contract law.
- Ability to successfully manage large procurement projects, including those of a complex nature
- Ability to lead complex negotiations with large vendors
- Experience in crown corporations or government environments, an asse
