Job Title: Sr. Civil Engineer
Location: Pickering, ON (Hybrid)

Job Summary:
Under broad supervision, performs more complex engineering assignments requiring originality, ingenuity and the development of new methods or resolution of conflicting objectives.
Provides advanced technical support and guides and reviews the work of other team members.
Reviews progress and updates management, as needed.
Performs a variety of more complex engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.
• Receives minimal assistance and instruction on most assignments and solutions.
• Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.
• Independently evaluates, selects and applies a variety of technical techniques, procedures,
and criteria using judgement in making more complex adaptations and modifications.
• Develops new or adapted products, methods, systems or models to provide added value
solutions to customers.
• Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods and improvements.
• Works on special projects, as directed.
• Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.
• Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to
support the product life cycle/replacement of current technologies
• Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business
line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business
- Experience in system engineering and design review processes and Ability to prepare and/or provide critical peer review of various engineering calculations and reports.
- Experience in manufacturing and constructability methods and ability to support constructability review meetings.
- Effective written and verbal communication with colleagues and clients
- Possess a pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution
- Ability and attitude to learn a variety of new procedures and processes while maintaining projects in various stages of production.
- Ability to work well with engineers from other technical disciplines.
- Self-starter with demonstrated interest and ability to learn
- Ability to enhance knowledge through working with senior staff and industry experts
- Ability to execute work to high safety and quality requirements
- Ability to respond rapidly to changing demands

- CSA S16 and/or other relevant codes (AACE or S157)
