Job Title: Senior Systems Assurance Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: Fulltime

Senior Systems Assurance Engineer:

The Mission: We are looking for a senior-level Systems Assurance specialist to join a premier global consultancy during a period of massive expansion in the Toronto rail market. In this role, you will be the primary technical authority for safety and reliability across a diverse portfolio of transit infrastructure projects. You will navigate the intersection of complex engineering design and rigorous safety standards, ensuring that the next generation of rail travel in North America is both innovative and dependable.

As a senior member of our multidisciplinary team, you will move beyond standard engineering to become a trusted advisor for both public and private sector clients. You will lead the charge on systems integration, safety assessments, and operational optimization, helping our partners unlock financial and social value while transitioning to low-carbon transit solutions.

The Challenge: This position is designed for someone who thrives in the high-stakes world of rail design lifecycles. You will be responsible for defining and executing System Safety and RAM plans from the feasibility stage through to final commissioning. A major part of your impact will involve leading critical safety workshops (such as HAZID and FMECA) and serving as the primary lead for hazard management and SIL assessments.

Beyond the technical deliverables, you will act as a mentor, sharing your expertise with junior engineers and contributing to a culture of technical excellence. You’ll be tasked with taking complex, modern assurance techniques and making them accessible and actionable for a wide range of project stakeholders.

Why Join Us?

  • Ownership Culture: Join a firm where employees are the stakeholders. Our unique trust-owned structure means we prioritize socially useful work and long-term impact over short-term quarterly targets.

  • Collaborative Freedom: Benefit from a “Global-Local” model where you have the autonomy to lead local projects while accessing a worldwide network of the industry's brightest minds.

  • Direct Reward: We believe in shared success. Our comprehensive benefits package includes a biannual profit-sharing plan that allows you to directly benefit from the collective achievements of the firm.

Qualifications & Requirements :

* 8 years of experience specifically within the rail technology and design sector.
* A University degree in Engineering
* Either possessing (or actively working toward) your Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Ontario.

Your background should demonstrate a deep mastery of System Engineering processes, specifically in developing RAMS models and facilitating safety-critical workshops. We are looking for a communicator who can bridge the gap between technical safety cases and project management goals. Experience with modern requirements management tools and a familiarity with railway performance or power modeling will be considered significant assets.

Remuneration:

– Dependent on experience, this role expects to pay between $130,000 – $160,000 per year
– Excellent benefits, RRSP matching, flexible and generous time off, and a profit-share program paid twice yearly

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$130,000 and CA$160,000

Our voluntary benefits offering includes medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
