Project Engineer – Aerospace/Robotics
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced engineering professional to serve as the technical lead on complex programs in the aerospace and robotics domain. You’ll work alongside a Program Manager to plan, coordinate, and guide a cross-disciplinary team, ensuring technical execution, schedule compliance, and budget adherence. The role involves direct interaction with both government and commercial clients, managing cost-plus and firm-fixed contracts.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the daily activities of a multi-discipline project team, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within scope.

Allocate engineering and technical resources effectively; flag gaps or conflicts to leadership early.

Maintain clear communication across disciplines to align objectives and resolve issues promptly.

Coordinate with supporting groups such as systems engineering, test, operations, manufacturing, procurement, and logistics.

Oversee integration and testing activities: develop procedures, organize ground support equipment, and ensure timely release of required documents.

Identify and manage risks and opportunities across the program, prioritizing and escalating when necessary.

Support customer engagement: assist with negotiations, clarify requirements, and ensure objectives are clearly defined and agreed upon.

Monitor non-labour activities such as subcontractor deliverables, material procurement, and supplier schedules to keep the project on track.

Participate in program reviews, design audits, and staff meetings, providing technical guidance to the team.

Assist in maintaining accurate program schedules, cost tracking, and recovery plans when needed.

Contribute to internal and external progress reviews, presenting status updates to senior management and clients.
Qualifications

Degree in engineering (or equivalent technical background).

10+ years of relevant experience in aerospace, robotics, or a comparable technical environment.

Prior exposure to program leadership, estimating, scheduling, and earned value management.

Strong background in risk assessment and full project lifecycle execution.

Effective communicator with proven ability to lead and motivate technical teams.

Comfortable working with external stakeholders and suppliers.

Creative problem solver with strong interpersonal and conflict management skills.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$110,000 and CA$120,000
