Job Description
Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Analysis who specializes in Mechanical Design Analysis, providing technical and operational leadership, having superior client relations skills and a proven ability to deliver major assignments.
Your role within the team:
As a member of the C3/C4 fuel handling team, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Work with a team to complete the stress analysis of the fuelling machine and related equipment.
- Engineering calculations to support design nuclear pressure boundary components.
- Preparation of formal technical reports.
- Review of design documents, calculations, and analysis reports.
- Execute engineering activities within budget and schedule.
- Provide accurate reporting of engineering work to technical and project managers.
- Provide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering related matters.
- Perform engineering work following our clients Quality Assurance programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements.
- Coordinate and interface with client, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines or department to execute assigned engineering work.
The ideal candidate:
- A Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a university of recognized standing.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
- At least 5-10 years of related work experience in the field of design and analysis of complex mechanical systems or equipment (knowledge of CANDU nuclear systems would be an asset).
- Experience performing stress analysis on fuelling machines a strong asset.
- Experience in the interpretation of GD&T is preferred.
- Experience in classical stress calculation.
- Experience in finite element analysis using ANSYS/LS-DYNA/ABAQUS (ANSYS APDL an asset).
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with ASME Section III, VIII Div 2 pressure boundary design and CSA N285.0.
- Knowledge of programming skills in MATLAB/VBA/Python is an asset.
- Drive for continuous learning by own initiative.
- Good time management skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
