Senior Commissioning Consultant
Mississauga, Ontario (On-site or Remote)
Contract (12-months) 

Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
 

• Provide advice to a multi-discipline project team;
• Coordinate and interface with Client, all project partners / stakeholders, OEM, trades, and sub-contractors;
• Plan and deliver the means and methods of the commissioning execution strategy in accordance with the  scope, schedule and cost;
• Prepare, review Commissioning Plans, Installation Plans and Commissioning Reports;
• Represent our client in a client-facing role;
• Support the planning and execution of Static and Dynamic Commissioning;
• Support scope and invoke change management, as required;
• Support resource requirements, allocation and staff development through coaching and mentoring;
• Prepare and present timely updates on progress, performance and staffing needs;
• Support the development and optimization of Commissioning processes and procedures.
• Review and approve Commissioning Plans, inclusive of procedures and testing requirements that align with Commissioning Specifications;
• Solve technical issues in cooperation with Design Engineering
• Solve technical issues in cooperation with Equipment Suppliers’ representative(s) (OEM), Trades and Client staff;
• Prepare and manage Pre-commissioning / Commissioning Punch-list items to closure;
• Procurement Engineering – support the procurement of OEM support services and commissioning spares;
• Participate and witness commissioning activities;
• Witness Commissioning Tests and verify field test results;
• Interface with Design Engineering on the review and acceptance of Commissioning Report

Experience / Qualifications (includes, but not limited to):

• Engineering Degree (B.A.Sc. or equivalent) from an accredited University;
• Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and member in good standing;
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Commissioning Planning and Execution of CANDU plants;
• Experience in Commissioning PWRs, BWRs or other nuclear reactor types will also be considered
• Core knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines i.e. Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control;
• Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams in a project delivery environment;
• Detailed knowledge of Nuclear Power Plant Systems, Structures and Components;
• Knowledge of Turbine Generator Controls and Auxiliaries is an asset;
• In-depth knowledge of project interfaces, engineering management processes and procedures;
• Proficient execution planning, organization and resource allocation skills;
• Proficient knowledge of project control systems, procurement systems and construction practices;
• Broad-based business and commercial knowledge is an asset;
• Strong client service/management skills;
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with effective verbal and written communication skills;
• Strong directional leadership and coaching skills;
• Adaptable to change and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment;
