Position Overview
The Project Manager – Nuclear Programs is responsible for the successful delivery of complex, technically demanding projects within the nuclear sector. This includes full accountability for budget, schedule, scope, quality, and client satisfaction. The Project Manager will direct cross-functional teams, coordinate internal and external resources, and ensure all project activities align with stringent regulatory, safety, and quality standards. This position reports to the Manager of Project Management and plays a key role in advancing the company’s reputation for safe, compliant, and efficient nuclear project execution.
Key Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary teams in the planning and execution of nuclear or nuclear-adjacent projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and quality assurance programs.

Define project objectives, deliverables, and performance baselines while ensuring alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Develop, maintain, and track detailed project schedules and progress metrics using advanced project management tools.

Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls to ensure delivery within approved financial parameters.

Prepare and issue timely project reports, performance summaries, and client communications.

Coordinate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality departments to maintain schedule integrity and meet technical milestones.

Proactively identify project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and manage change through formal change control processes.

Lead or support proposal and bid development, including resource planning, scheduling, and cost estimation.

Manage subcontractor performance to ensure safety, quality, and technical compliance throughout execution.

Maintain strong working relationships with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of expectations and priorities.

Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with nuclear safety culture principles, regulatory frameworks (e.g., CSA, ASME, ISO), and internal governance standards.

Participate in lessons learned, continuous improvement initiatives, and refinement of departmental processes, tools, and reporting frameworks.

Support financial performance through timely billing, change order management, and revenue recognition processes.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.

Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial, nuclear, or highly regulated environment.

Demonstrated understanding of project management principles, including earned value management, scheduling, cost control, and risk management.

Proficient in complex scheduling and progress tracking tools, such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Knowledge of contract management and commercial execution within a project-based organization.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of technical and financial data.

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Commitment to nuclear safety culture, quality assurance, and procedural compliance.
Preferred Attributes
-
At least 5 years of project management experience in the nuclear energy, nuclear manufacturing, or power generation sectors.

Experience managing EPC or refurbishment projects under regulated frameworks (e.g., CNSC, DOE, NRC).

Advanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, and enterprise project management systems.

Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.

Familiarity with CSA N-series standards, ASME codes, and ISO 9001 quality systems.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$90,000 and CA$125,000
