Procurement Advisor (x2)

Our client is a Canadian integrated energy company. There operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the US. They also have a retail energy distribution network
They are currently looking for a  Procurement Advisor for their Calgary  location.

Overview:

This resource will be  responsible for the sourcing and procurement lifecycle activities supporting  the procurement of materials and services for Mine & Tailings capital projects

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement of materials and services for Mine & Tailings capital projects
  • Lead sourcing activities, including development, issuance, and administration of RFx events
  • Evaluate supplier proposals, conduct commercial assessments, and support supplier selection and award recommendations
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and supply arrangements to achieve value, mitigate risk, and support project objectives
  • Manage the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle, including requisition review, PO creation, issuance, change management, expediting, issue resolution, and closeout
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business and project requirements and translate them into effective procurement strategies
  • Ensure procurement activities are executed in compliance with company policies, procedures, and governance requirements
  • Monitor supplier performance with emphasis on delivery, quality, cost control, and continuous improvement
  • Identify cost reduction and value improvement opportunities through market analysis, supplier engagement, and demand planning
  • Steward SCM KPIs and support reporting, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain procurement documentation, reporting, and records throughout the sourcing and PO management process
  • Support project teams in ensuring procured materials and services are delivered in accordance with project schedules and operational needs

Experience:
 

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or Supply Chain
  • 5–7 years of related professional experience and/or a combination of commercial and technical work experience
  • Proven track record in sourcing, procurement execution, and commercial negotiations
  • Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing RFx processes, supplier evaluation, and procurement award recommendations
  • Understanding of procurement processes, purchase order lifecycle management, and supply risk mitigation
  • Skilled in using SAP, Fieldglass, Ariba, MyTrack, and spend analytics tools to support sourcing and procurement activities
  • Strong financial and business acumen, with the ability to identify effective business solutions in a complex environment
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and manage multiple procurement priorities in a project environment
  • Experience supporting procurement of materials and/or services for capital projects is preferred;
  • Experience in Mine & Tailings projects is considered an asset

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between ¤71.00 and ¤85.00
