Our client is a leader in the responsible development and reliable and safe operation of North American energy infrastructure, Is looking for a Portfolio / Program Manager for the Calgary AB market.
Job Description:
Key Areas:
Strategic Leadership:
• Define the data strategy and roadmap to support SAP S/4 HANA implementation success.
• Act as the bridge between business, IT, and implementation partners to align data priorities with operational and financial goals.
• Ensure compliance with industry, regulatory, and internal data governance policies
Data Governance & Quality:
• Stand up and oversee the data governance framework for SAP Plus, including stewardship, ownership, and data quality policies.
• Lead the definition of standards for SAP master data (e.g. assets, materials, customers, vendors)
• Establish data quality metrics, monitoring and remediation process
SAP Data Workstreams:
• Oversee all data-related workstreams in the SAP project: data migration, data cleansing, enrichment, validation and cutover
• Ensure legacy data mapping aligns with SAP S/4 HANA data models and Fiori apps
• Manage data readiness checkpoints for testing, training, and go-live
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
• Lead a cross-functional data team (internal staff and System Integrator consultants)
• Collaborate with Business Process Leads, Solution Architects, and System Integrators to align on data models with SAP modules (e.g. PM, MM, FICO, EAM)
• Guide and support data stewards across functions and geographies
Risk & Compliance:
• Identify and mitigate data risks that could delay or derail ERP cutover
• Support audit, SOX, and ESG reporting requirements through data lineage and control documentation
Key deliverables to be completed during the Planning phase of the project in collaboration with the System Integrator and other project team members:
• Master Data Governance (MDG) Scope Definition: Review and refine data governance framework. Ensure that data management and control policies and procedures are established and adhered to by ensuring accountability is identified for defining data standards, data quality metrics and data security protocols that ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the data.
• Data Migration Strategy: Lead the definition of the process for transferring data from legacy systems to the new ERP. Ensure the mapping of data from old to new systems, ensuring data quality during migration. Support the execution of data migration, including mock load cycles and production data loads.
• Data Quality and Enrichment Strategy: Establish standards and rules for measuring and improving data quality using existing frameworks and new S/4 requirements.
• Data Archiving and Retention Plan: Specify guidelines for archiving legacy ECC data, retention, timelines and compliance requirements.
• Initial Data Profiling and Assessment: Conduct a current state analysis of ECC data quality, completeness, and readiness for migration. Lead the definition of key data related business requirements, lead the conducting data profiling, cleansing, collection, construction.
• Stakeholder Requirements Documentation: Capture initial business, technical, and regulatory requirements for data and analytics across all workstreams and domains.
• Data Management Roadmap: Develop an integrated timeline for all data-related activities across the transformation. This includes major milestones, dependency mapping and resource plan.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Business Process Leads in the development of the Reporting & Analytics Strategy
Qualifications
• Senior qualification in computer science, information technology, or data science.
• Experience in establishing governance and planning and executing data migrations for large scale ERP projects including hands on experience with ERP systems, data modeling and data integration.
• Experience leading the development and deployment of data strategies with large scale companies through deployment. This includes ensuring alignment with the technology environment
• Proficiency in a variety of data management tools and technologies.
• Strong analytics skills to identify data issues and develop solutions.
• Project management: experience managing large projects and resources in data related projects.
• Communication and collaboration to be able to work with various stakeholders.
• Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and quality during migration
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$75.00 and CA$90.00
