Reporting to the Vice President of Fuel Handling & Engineered Solutions, this leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Project Management Office (PMO), which includes a team of over 20 professionals. The PMO operates as one of several key business lines within the broader Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions (FHES) organization.
This is a pivotal role requiring strong leadership, strategic oversight, and seamless coordination with departments such as engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and commercial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Administration

Define and implement departmental strategies, objectives, and initiatives to drive project execution excellence across FHES.

Lead financial planning for the department, including budget development and cost monitoring.

Empower the PMO team to maintain effective project governance frameworks.

Participate in operational planning activities, contributing insights into resources, sales forecasting, margins, capital planning, and revenue recognition.

Work cross-functionally to identify strategic growth opportunities and propose actionable recommendations.

Ensure compliance with corporate policies and governance structures.
Organizational Development

Oversee staffing functions including recruitment, development, performance management, and succession planning.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal leadership across the FHES business.

Represent the voice of the client within the PMO, ensuring customer needs and satisfaction remain top priorities.

Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance organizational efficiency and team performance.
Operational Oversight

Accountable for the performance of all active projects within the PMO’s scope.

Organize and facilitate meetings to ensure teams are aligned with project goals, timelines, and deliverables.

Analyze and communicate performance data, trends, and insights to relevant stakeholders.

Advocate for the PMO’s resource needs and performance outcomes to senior leadership.

Drive project recovery and remediation efforts as needed to meet contractual or customer expectations.

Oversee the organization’s project portfolio, proactively identifying and resolving delivery risks.

Act as a point of escalation for critical project issues, ensuring effective communication with clients and internal leadership.

Maintain strong working relationships with client organizations to foster trust and alignment.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.

A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management or a related field.

In-depth understanding of project management methodologies including schedule control, earned value, budgeting, and change management.

Proven experience with complex contractual agreements and stakeholder management.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize and present complex data.

Experience managing sensitive client interactions and delivering results in challenging environments.

Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong leadership abilities, including coaching, feedback delivery, and conflict resolution.

Demonstrated success in leading high-performance teams and projects.
Preferred Experience & Skills
-
At least 10 years of experience within a project-based or engineering-focused industry.

Background in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, or industrial engineering.

Prior experience in the nuclear industry is an asset.

Advanced proficiency in scheduling and project planning tools such as Oracle Primavera P6.

High-level skills with Microsoft Excel and data analysis.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.
