Job Title: Mechanical Stress Analyst (Nuclear)
Location: Peterborough, ON – Onsite (4–5 days per week, occasional WFH Fridays)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Stress Analyst with a strong background in structural and thermal analysis to support complex projects within the nuclear or heavy industrial sector. The ideal candidate will possess deep analytical expertise with the ability to perform advanced FEA and stress analysis, particularly on pressure vessels, piping systems, and steel structures.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth, with the potential to transition into an Analysis Team Lead role in the near future.
Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed stress and structural analysis for piping systems, pressure vessels, and steel structures.

Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and thermal analysis using ANSYS or equivalent tools.

Support and review FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) documentation.

Collaborate with design teams to ensure compliance with engineering standards and codes.

Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations.

Contribute to the development of analytical methodologies and design improvements.

Provide leadership and mentorship as the team expands (future team lead opportunity).
Qualifications

P.Eng. designation (Professional Engineer) – required.

7–10 years of relevant engineering experience.

Experience in nuclear industry preferred; non-nuclear (e.g., aerospace, heavy industrial) backgrounds will be considered.

Demonstrated expertise in stress, thermal, and structural analysis.

Proficiency with ANSYS, FEA tools, and FMEA methodologies.

Experience with pressure vessels, steel structures, cranes, and piping systems.

Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$75.00 and CA$90.00
