Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Kincardine, ON (Onsite)
    
Estimated Duration: 12 Months

 

Scope of Work

  • Under general supervision, performs varied and difficult engineering tasks requiring application of established techniques and procedures. Assignments involve responsibility for planning/conducting a complete task or portion of a larger project under direction of more experienced staff. Provides technical support related to planning, designing, analyzing, constructing and maintaining structures, systems and components. 
  • Performs routine and non-routine engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.
  • Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.
  • Builds knowledge of organization processes and customers.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.
  • Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product lifecycle/replacement of current technologies
  • Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business
  • Experience in system engineering and design review processes and Ability to prepare and/or provide critical peer review of various engineering calculations and reports.    
  • Experience in manufacturing and constructability methods and ability to support constructability review meetings.
  • Familiarity with engineering software tools, such as ANSYS, AutoPIPE, AutoCAD, Solid Works, MicroShield.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of CSA N285.0, CSA B51, CSA N299/Z299, ASME BPVC.
  • Familiarity with CSA S16, CSA N289, National Building Code of Canada, ASME B30.20.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • BSc in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
  • 3+ years Mechanical Engineering experience in Nuclear
  • ADE/OE/IE (Item Equivilency) Quals

  • Engineering standards, FMEA, Stress Analysis  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; technical report writing capabilities
