Job Title: Materials Coordinator
Location: Vernon, BC (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 12 Months
Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Material Coordinator for their Vernon location.
Overview:
The Material Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and tracking materials being sent to various project sites throughout BC.
Role Accountabilities
- Experience in categories or infrastructure capital project sourcing
- Develop and plan the implementation of category and/or sourcing strategies or related work packages by using excellent skills in communication, analysis, critical thinking, planning/project management, supplier/market research, problem-solving, and facilitation of decision-making in a large and complex organization.
- Implement category and/or sourcing strategies or related work packages using category management processes and standards, good project management practices, knowledge of public sector procurement law, and the appropriate application of relevant supply chain concepts.
- Lead and/or support projects that may include developing and conducting RFPs, preparing for and conducting negotiations, both initial award and for extensions, as well as implementing supplier relationship management initiatives including analyzing and resolving escalated contract or supplier issues.
Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Finance, or equivalent
- A minimum five (5) years of sourcing, category management or equivalent
- Material release coordination experience
- Willingness and ability to conduct Periodic site visits for inspection
- Valid Class 5 driver license in good standing
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken
- SAP experience is an asset
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$47.50 and CA$59.00
