Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and support maintenance activities in a high-volume, just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing environment.
This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining all production and facility systems to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in mechanical and electrical maintenance, proven leadership experience, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex automation and PLC-related issues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Maintenance Technicians, providing daily supervision, guidance, and technical support.

  • Perform and oversee preventive, planned, and emergency maintenance to ensure uninterrupted production flow.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems.

  • Install, modify, and commission new equipment to support production, safety, and efficiency goals.

  • Fabricate fixtures, workstations, and equipment improvements as required.

  • Maintain accurate records of downtime, maintenance activities, and spare parts inventory.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing equipment downtime and increasing reliability.

  • Coordinate facility-related maintenance, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Empowered to stop production when safety, environmental, or quality issues require immediate attention.

  • Support compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.


Required Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma (OSSD) required; completion of a technical trade school or licensed trade certification preferred.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance, with supervisory or team lead responsibilities.

  • Proven ability to manage maintenance programs in a JIT production environment.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

  • Experience with PLC programming and robotic systems.

  • Skilled in welding, machining (milling, grinding), and fabrication.

  • Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures, dock safety, and CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems).

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team coordination skills.

  • Strong organizational ability and commitment to safety and continuous improvement.


    Preferred Assets

    • Experience in the automotive or Tier 1 manufacturing sector.

    • Familiarity with Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) in regulated environments.

    • Proficiency in environmental and energy management systems (ISO 14001 / ISO 50001).

    • German language skills considered an asset.


    Working Conditions

    • Fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring on-site leadership.

    • May require overtime or weekend availability during critical maintenance or production periods.

    • Regular exposure to machinery, tools, and industrial conditions requiring PPE compliance.

  • The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$68.00 and CA$78.00
