Job Title: Intermediate Electrical Engineer
Location: Surrey, BC (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 9 Months
General Requirements:
Provides engineering management, engineering design and review, and other professional services. The primary focus for this position is to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external resources to develop project cost estimates, schedule estimates, design adequacy and construction feasibility and ensuring completion of technical supporting documentation to the maturity level required to meet AACE Class level definitions.
Job Summary:
Reporting to Stations Senior Engineer this position is responsible to provide engineering design and other professional services to support capital projects including new electrical and instrumentation system installations and modifications within pressure regulating facilities, RNG facilities, and propane facilities, compressor stations, pipeline and valve stations to support operating activities
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized program plus 4-7 years’ experience in natural gas transmission and distribution facilities or Oil and Gas Projects.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.
Technical Competencies:
- Working knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation/Control System Engineering and Design (electrical services distribution, single line diagram, electrical and grounding layout and details, schematics, I/O, interconnection & wiring drawings, control cabinet layout)
- Working knowledge of control systems; DCS, PLC, HMI and Telemetry/SCAD
- Working knowledge of Provincial and Canadian CSA Codes as applied to Oil and Gas projects
- Working knowledge of software such as MS Office and MS-Projec
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writin
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical mentoring to others
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information and make sound judgement
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a tea
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$50.00 and CA$80.00
