Job Title: Financial Professional – CPA / CFA
Location: Burnaby, BC (Hybrid)

Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Financial Professional – CPA or CFA for their Burnaby location.
Overview:
The Finance Professional oversees the preparation of financial reports, provides strategic business advice, decision support, and leads the development of annual budgets and periodic forecast updates accurately and on time for one or more business units at client.
They will assist the Revenue Reporting Team with process optimization initiatives, including data analytics and Power BI
Role Accountabilities
- Prepare and present financial reports, proposals, and recommendations to senior management by using excellent knowledge of financial policies and procedures and advanced skills in computer applications such as SAP and MS Office to comply with the financial requirements of client’s complex and regulated environment
- Build meaningful relationships with internal clients by responding to finance related inquiries and collaborating across functional areas using excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively translate complex finance concepts in a concise and simple manner.
- Share finance skills and expertise with others by providing guidance on accounting issues to ensure consistent adherence to financial policies and associated internal control frameworks at client.
- Perform financial planning activities by facilitating the business planning process and leading the development of annual budgets and periodic forecast updates to support client’s financial objectives.
- Provide recommendations on investment opportunities by analyzing business, financial, and operational implications using excellent technical knowledge of financial investment and risk models and techniques.
Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business , Finance, or other related discipline
- Nine (9) to twelve (12) years of financial management work experience or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, with demonstrated capabilities in advanced data analytics, including experience with Power BI and MS Excel Data Model.
- Experience accessing data using SAP Business Warehouse.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to summarize data to visually tell a story.
- Experience implementing change and business improvement initiatives.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving skills.
- Professional accounting designation such as the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
