Job Title: Financial Analyst IV

Job Summary
The Specialist, Strategic Financial Evaluations is responsible for leading the development, review, and ongoing maintenance of comprehensive financial models supporting new projects and strategic initiatives. This role ensures that investment analyses are accurate, defensible, and aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements. The position works cross-functionally to support project approvals, regulatory filings, and long-term strategic planning.
This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday).
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain integrated financial models incorporating standardized metrics and relevant tax, financing, accounting, legal, and regulatory considerations.

Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and defensibility of investment evaluations.

Support corporate project approval processes by providing financial analysis and guidance to business units.

Prepare materials for regulatory filings, including supporting evidence, schedules, and financial studies for applications and hearings.

Communicate modeling outcomes and collaborate in both strategic and tactical planning initiatives.

Conduct post-investment reviews comparing actual performance against approved financial projections.

Research and analyze industry trends and best practices in financial modeling to enhance evaluation standards.
Qualifications

University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 7 years of experience in business valuations and/or capital investment analysis using discounted cash flow (DCF) modeling.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.

Strong understanding of accounting, tax, and finance principles.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, persuasion, prioritization, and critical thinking skills.

Experience working within a rate-regulated industry is considered an asset.

Professional designation (MBA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$50.00 and CA$60.00
