Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Burnaby, BC (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 12 Months
Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Mechanical Maintenance E.I.T. for their Burnaby location.
Overview:
This position is needed to help with development and implementation of electricity generation equipment preventive maintenance programs and to support Asset Management and Safety related initiatives
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for electricity generation equipment, including supporting documentation such as maintenance procedures, maintenance instructions, record forms as well as selection of required spare parts to sustain equipment operation.
- All deliverables with quality, within budget, and on time.
- Reading and understanding drawings and manuals to articulate how a system works and how the system can fail and what needs to be done to prevent failures either from a design or an effective maintenance standpoint
- Coordinate with engineering subject matter experts, field personnel, regulatory compliance personnel, etc for the development and implementation of maintenance programs.
Experience
- Must have minimum two (2) years of engineering experience working in the equipment maintenance and/or commissioning field, or equivalent.
- As a minimum, registered Engineer-in-Training or Geoscientist-in-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists BC or another jurisdiction and/or eligible for registration as such with Engineers and Geoscientists BC
- Experience with operation, maintenance, and remediation of failures of equipment and systems in the power utility industry, oil and gas industry, or heavy industrial environment
- Experience developing preventive maintenance programs and/or developing/performing commissioning plans for a variety of mechanical assets such as:
- Generator Exciter
- DC power supply equipment (batteries, chargers, etc)
- Medium and low voltage AC power supply equipment (oil filled and dry type transformer, power circuit breakers, disconnect switches, surge arresters, switchgear, power distribution panels)
- Control & monitoring related equipment.
- Electrical protection related components
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize when given multiple competing assignments
- Good decision making and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of Reliability Center Maintenance (RCM) is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is desirable but not essential
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$47.00 and CA$60.00
