Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Compliance
Location: Burnaby, BC (Hybrid)

Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for an Electrical Compliance Engineer for their Burnaby location
Overview:
The Compliance Engineer will work with the client’s Engineering Compliance team to improve NERC reliability compliance while working to strengthen client’s compliance program.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing various sources of Engineering records to identify elements that meet certain compliance criteria
- Conduct application of criteria while maintaining accuracy and consistency
- Develop safe engineering solutions by using initiative and judgement to perform activities such as developing designs, analyzing and resolving problems, and interpreting engineering specifications on low to medium complexity assignments for projects and/or operations.
- Assist project or operations management to meet safety, and NERC compliance objectives by performing activities such as proposing changes in plans, preparing progress reports, coordinating work schedules and other similar tasks.
- Participate in client’s engineering practice by conducting independent studies and analysis, exercising judgment in selecting and interpreting information, recommending safe engineering designs, and making typical decisions related to standard methods and designs so that client’s engineering compliance standards are maintained.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by Canadian Universities. Preferred areas of study include computer engineering, control systems, telecommunications, systems engineering, or power engineering.
- A minimum four (4) years in a relevant engineering field
- Strong experience in NERC CIP compliance
- Excellent leadership, communications (verbal and written), technical writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills are required.
- Good understanding of project and task management processes.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Excel Visual Basic for Applications, Microsoft Access, data analytics, scripting in PowerShell or Python, and port scanning of Operation Technology devices highly preferred.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$58.75 and CA$72.50
