Job Title: Cost Control Specialist II
Location: North York, Markham, London, Ontario (hybrid 3 days a week)
Contract Duration: 12 months

Role Summary
The Cost Control Specialist provides cost control, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting support to Project Management. This role works closely with Project Managers and project stakeholders to ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation.
Key Accountabilities
Daily and weekly cost tracking and reconciliation
Invoice review and coding
Cost control, variance analysis, and reporting support

Responsibilities
Daily and weekly project cost tracking and reconciliation in accordance with processes and procedures.
Review, code, and track invoices for proper cost allocation.
Update trackers using SAP/Oracle, POs, invoices, and vendor data.
Resolve cost discrepancies.
Perform monthly accruals and affiliate billings.
Provide variance analysis and reporting.
Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations.
Track scope changes and maintain change logs.
Ensure sanctioned cost control processes are applied.
Capture data for benchmarking and improvement.
Coordinate weekly Project Controls meetings and minutes.
Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Finance, and stakeholders.
Provide management updates.
Identify solutions to project controls challenges.
Coordinate documentation, files, standards, and compliance.
Adapt cost control strategies as project needs evolve.

Provides operational support and leadership by:
Communicating and working effectively with a group of stakeholders on a regular basis.
Supporting project organization by identifying and implementing innovative solutions to project controls challenges
Coordinating associated administrative matters, e.g., documentation, files, standards and regulations etc.
Working with the assigned project management team to provide updates to Management
Adapt cost management strategies, as required, to meet the needs of projects managed by the department.
Ensuring each project team consistently applies client sanctioned cost control processes throughout project execution.
Performing other related duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Related university degree or previous field operations experience, OR mix of formal education and experience
Thorough understanding of Distribution Operations procedures and policies.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Demonstrate effective working relationships with peers and internal/external customers
Thorough knowledge of various computer software programs including spreadsheet and word processor
Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
Project Management Professional designation, AACE certification, and/or Professional Engineering designation are assets
Advanced working knowledge of related Microsoft Office software, company financial systems, enterprise structure and standard operating procedures, etc.
Ability to effectively manage and prioritize workload and resolve issues in a timely manner
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. This includes the ability to effectively interact with peers, internal and external stakeholders.
Salary and job level will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$28.00 and CA$30.00
