Job Title: Contract Professional

Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Contract Professional   for their Vancouver location

Overview:
The Contract Specialist will focus on Site C Clean Energy Project.

Role Accountabilities

  • Ensure supplier relationships and performance are effectively managed, evaluated, and continuously improved as needed, including identifying contract opportunities early to deliver the expected benefits from sourcing strategies.
  • Conduct analytics, develop strategies, and provide advice on contract delivery models and contract-related issues to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • May fulfill the client Representative Delegate role on Master Services Agreements to ensure contracts are executed in accordance with the terms and conditions and client financial policies
  • Ensures assigned contracts and contractors are operating in a way that meets performance objectives and in alignment with approved strategies. This includes ensuring plans are in place to manage risks and anticipate future trends, needs, changes
  • Leads/Manages development and implementation of: business process improvements, benefit realization plans and other processes; supports the business in contract management
  • Understanding contract formats, pricing structures, scope definitions, general Terms & Conditions and the ability to clearly articulate the areas to stakeholders to ensure contract compliance.

Education and Skills

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent
  •  Minimum 9 years proven track record of both executing value-add contracts and delivering strategic benefits to achieve specific business outcomes.
  • Experience communicating effectively verbally and in written form to various levels of audiences including Senior Leaders.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data, identifying trends to clearly communicate findings.
  • Proven abilities (as they relate to contract management) in influencing internal and external parties, managing risk, and optimizing costs through innovation.
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams in a complex business environment, with multiple stakeholders and strategic considerations.
  • Experience planning and leading change initiatives using structured project management or equivalent.
  • Experience working with project management, including the development and management of departmental KPIs.
  • Experience with complex contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
  • Experience with SAP is considered an asset
