Our client is a Canadian integrated energy company. There operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the US. They also have a retail energy distribution network

They are currently looking for a Contract Analyst for their Calgary location

Overview

The Contract Analyst will negotiate and manage the lifecycle of contracts and build strong relationships with the business and suppliers to deliver measurable risk and efficiency improvements

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to define business requirements and translate them into sourcing and category strategies that align with asset plans and corporate objectives, with a strong focus on cost efficiency, total cost of ownership and value optimization
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities through market analysis, supplier collaboration, demand management and monitoring of category spend
  • Apply data driven insights to challenge specifications, service deliver models and commercial structures to achieve sustainable cost savings
  • Lead sourcing-to-contract events ensuring commercial outcomes balance cost efficiency, performance and risk management
  • Manage supplier performance with emphasis on cost control
  • Design innovative commercial models and negotiate strategies that drive competitive advantage and cost reduction
  • Manage contract planning, contract strategy development, sourcing and negotiation  management activities through to contract formation and approval and claim / warranty

Education and Experience:
 

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience with material and/or service contract management
  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Business or Supply Chain
  • Experience negotiating and managing the lifecycle of contracts
  • Proven track record on cost optimization, cost modeling and total cost-of-ownership analysis
  • Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills with multi-year service-based contracts
  • Experience communicating effectively verbally and in written form to various levels of audiences including Senior Leaders.
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder engagement and management experience.
  • Skilled in using SAP, Ariba, MyTrack and spend analytic tools to support sourcing and cost optimization

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between ¤63.00 and ¤75.50
