Job Title: Construction Technologist – Project Controls
Location: Mica Creek & Revelstoke, BC (Onsite)
Estimated Duration: 5 Months
Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Construction Technologist – Project Controls for their Mica Creek location.
Overview:
The Construction Technologist will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and administering the project controls program for Mica and Revelstoke.
Experience and Role Accountabilities
- Developing and managing an integrated schedule which includes multiple project(s) as well as regular facility maintenance outages.
- Creating and maintaining workforce forecasts, including internal client resource projections.
- Reviewing project schedules for compliance.
- Coordinating laydown and preparing staging drawings.
- Managing our shared services budgets, including annual cost estimates and actuals tracking.
- Assisting Construction Managers with Work Package Management (WPM).
- Supporting Construction Managers in tracking construction progress.
- Leading technology-based initiatives to enhance project efficiency.
Education and Skills
- A minimum of five (7) years of construction experience or equivalent.
- Diploma of Technology from an institute of technology or Degree in a construction related field such as Engineering, Forestry, Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration or Quantity Surveying; or a related trades qualification (such as Electrician, Winder, Power Line Technician, General Trades 1 or Millwright).
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of scheduling software like P6, Microsoft project.
- Scheduling and planning experience
- Excellent skills with regards to Microsoft Office specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Trades, engineering, or technologist background (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
