Construction Manager – North Coast Transmission Lines
Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Construction Manager for their Burnaby or Prince George location.
Overview:
Our client is looking for a Construction Manager to manage the construction of a major transmission line construction project.
Responsibilities:
- Provide project management for multidisciplinary teams consisting of client employees, consultants, and contractors.
- Manage program oversight of consultants and contractors, ensuring effective coordination with internal clients and stakeholders.
- Support the implementation and sustainment of mandatory requirements and programs related to safety, environment, and other corporate initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Senior Management, field personnel, staff, and contractors to influence project performance.
- Lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of Capital Construction programs and initiatives, including contractor safety and high?risk work controls.
- Lead and facilitate Construction Management forums, training sessions, onboarding, and bootcamps (e.g., Prime Contractor, Qualified Coordinator).
- Identify gaps in systems, program implementation, or training, and collaborate with Project Senior Leadership to address them.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, relevant trades
certification, or appropriate length of experience in managing power system
field work.
- A minimum five (5) years of construction management experience or equivalent.
- Have a strong program, project, or construction management background.
- Have experience developing new programs, field auditing vendors, and
- reporting.
- Be willing and able to travel and complete field-based assignments as required, potentially over longer timeframes.
- Safe and incident free driving record.
- Able to work in outdoor, rugged, and potentially difficult to navigate locations.
- May require walking and hiking to some locations.
- Experience overseeing worksite safety and work crews.
- May be required to work alone, following required safety procedures.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.50 and CA$75.00
