Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Construction Manager for their Burnaby location.
Overview:
Our client is looking for a Construction Manager to support field-based requirements to manage T-Lines Maintenance Programs (e.g. Fire Risk Mitigation, Inspections, Decommissioning, Repairs, Development of new program pilots).
Responsibilities:
- Field audits of External vendors to ensure adherence to standards and quality data entry.
- Assign work in Transmission Lines Data Server (TLDS Application).
- Review inspections in TLDS as they are returned.
- Periodic in-field audits to ensure adherence to standards and quality data entry.
- Bi-weekly safety calls with contractors to discuss safety and operational issues. –
- Entry of any IMS incidents
- Review of invoices prior to submitting to P3 for approval
- Advance site visits, scope vetting, gather stakeholder requirements (IP, PCM, LFO)
- If required, development of work packages for Internal Work Program Manager (WPM) to contract out.
- Coordinate internal and external resources as required to mobilize to site.
- Review of completed work order packages for quality, system updates, invoicing approval by WPM.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, relevant trades certification, or appropriate length of experience in managing power system field work.
- Have a strong program, project, or construction management background.
- Have experience developing new programs, field auditing vendors, and
- reporting.
- Be willing and able to travel and complete field-based assignments as required, potentially over longer timeframes.
- May require helicopter travel (previous experience may be an asset, may be required to obtain training at client’s cost).
- May require travel by boat (water taxi, barge, other similar methods)
- Safe and incident free driving record.
- Able to work in outdoor, rugged, and potentially difficult to navigate locations.
- May require walking and hiking to some locations.
- Experience overseeing worksite safety and work crews.
- May be required to work alone, following required safety procedures.
