Actual Job Title: Digital Communications Specialist
Location: North York, Ontario.
Contract Duration: 1 year contract
Working Schedule: Hybrid position (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in office)
High Level Description
The Senior Analyst, Digital Communications is responsible for leading Client’s social media channels and digital storytelling efforts across GDS. At its core, this role requires an exceptional writer and storyteller who can quickly translate complex business, operational, and regulatory topics into compelling, customer-focused content while managing multiple priorities and supporting key business objectives
Specific Accountabilities
- Lead the development and execution of social media strategies, content, and campaigns across Client’s channels.
- Create compelling, customer-focused content that translates complex business, operational, and regulatory topics into clear and engaging communications.
- Campaign mindset that understands how to grow audience engagement and support the brand.
- Strong understanding of content governance, brand standards, accessibility requirements, and digital communications best practices.
- Manage content calendars, campaign planning, and stakeholder relationships across the business
- Monitor social media activity, audience sentiment, and emerging issues to protect and enhance the company's reputation.
- Provide strategic communications and digital engagement recommendations to stakeholders. .
- Analyze channel and campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve engagement and results. .
- Experience using AI-enabled content creation and analytics tools.
- Participate in the Digital Communications on-call rotation and support emergency response communications as required.
Scope/Dimensions
- The role supports standard communications assignments under the guidance of more senior team members.
- Decisions are generally made within established processes, with more complex issues, media responses, or reputational risks escalated to senior team members.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in communications, digital communications, public affairs, journalism, content strategy, social media, or a related field.
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience developing and executing social media and digital content strategies.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex or technical topics for public audiences.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, audience engagement, content performance, and digital analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills, particularly in reputation-sensitive situations.
- Strong stakeholder management, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and build effective partnerships across the organization
- Command of English is very important for role. Please ensure your candidates submitted has excellent communication skills – verbal and written
Preferred:
- Experience in a utility, energy, government, regulatory, public affairs, or highly regulated environment.
- Experience managing agency and vendor relationships.
- Familiarity with web content management systems, digital advertising platforms, and marketing analytics tools.
- Crisis communications and issues management experience
Working Conditions:
- Office?based three days a week with standard business hours.
- Role requires participation in an on?call rotation for emergency or issue response.
- Occasional extended hours during issues or crises.
- Limited travel may be required for media events or stakeholder engagements
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$30.00 and CA$34.00
