Job Title: Civil Structural Engineer

Location: Burnaby, BC (On Site)

Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are presently looking for a   Civil /Structural Engineer for their Burnaby, BC location.

Overview:

Civil-structural engineer familiar with hydroelectric infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and construction support in the field, and undertake field reviews as required by EGBC.
  • Structural design, analysis and detailing for Concrete, Steel, Masonry and Timber structures

Qualifications:

  • University graduate in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • P.Eng. (EGBC) or eligible for immediate registration, with a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 8+ years of civil/structural engineering experience.
  • Strong concrete and steel design experience.
  • Experience leading engineering projects and working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to conduct site visits/field inspections and provide construction support
  • (Class 5 Driver's License required).
  • Hydroelectric infrastructure experience (dams, spillways, powerhouses, penstocks, etc.).
  • Seismic analysis and design expertise.
  • Finite Element Analysis (LS-DYNA or similar) experience is considered an asset
