Job Title:  Business Intelligence Senior Advisor
Location: North York, Ontario (Hybrid 3 days Onsite a week)
Contract Duration: 1 year

Senior Advisor, Business Intelligence provides data and analytics support for Client initiatives. The role partners with clients to understand business needs, deliver analytical solutions, guide junior analysts, support data quality standards, and advance analytics capabilities through special projects and continuous improvement

What you do

  • Partner with internal teams and clients to identify strategic business needs and analytics opportunities, shaping customized analytical approaches that drive business performance and inform decision-making.
  • Lead complex analytical initiatives end to end, including defining the problem statement, guiding data exploration, developing hypotheses, structuring analysis, and validating methods, findings, and recommendations.
  • Deliver high-quality analytics solutions, reports, and insights within defined timelines, ensuring alignment with business priorities and stakeholder needs.
  • Lead the development, application and validation of statistical regression and prediction models using large, complex data sets to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and performance optimization.
  • Provide oversight on the evaluation of data sources, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and fitness for purpose, while recommending enhancements to data collection, validation, and reporting processes.
  • Oversee the development and enhancement of dashboards and reporting solutions that enable senior leadership and internal stakeholders to make measurable, actionable, and data-informed decisions.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and cross-functional workshops to identify innovative ways to apply data and analytics in support of business objectives.
  • Tailor communications, presentations, and recommendations to diverse audiences across all levels of the organization.
  • Guide exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities that support strategic planning and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain deep business and system knowledge within supported areas

 
Who are you:

  • Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree is an asset.
  • 7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, statistical analysis, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and R, with experience working with complex data sets and maintaining data environments.
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure Databricks and modern analytics platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear business insights and documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize large volumes of information for business decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Visio, and GIS.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships across the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading workshops and presenting to a range of stakeholder groups.

Preferred:

  • Experience with advanced analytics, including predictive modelling, forecasting, and statistical analysis, is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their practical application in business and customer analytics is considered an asset.
  • Experience with data warehousing, data modelling, and modern analytics environments is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms and scalable data solutions is considered an asset.

Working Conditions:
Typical office environment Travel required (approximately 5% of time), Most travel is within Ontario.
 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$65.00 and CA$68.00
