Job Title: Business Analyst – Document Management

Location: Vancouver, BC

Estimated Duration: 12 Months

Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Business Analyst for their Vancouver location for a one year assignment.

Overview:

The Business  Analyst will assess data needs and prepare data sets for the various dashboards and analytics reports.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement best practices for document management.
  • Partner with WPM, FO, and Contracts to ensure data quality and align with business processes.
  • Perform data entry and manage updates for workplan maintenance.
  • Ensure data quality adheres to established business rules and standards.
  • Conduct data pulls to support reporting and analysis.
  • Utilize technology solutions to enhance processes and support business intelligence.
  • Manage newsletters, contribute data to managing team SharePoint sites, and promote the team's brand.
  • Create and publish monthly scorecards and reports, delivering critical insights and performance metrics to initiators and stakeholders.
  • Assist the team in compliance with project closeout, ensuring all final documents and deliverables are completed.

Experience
 

  • A minimum five (5) years of business analysis and/or management experience.
  • A university degree in Computer Science
  • PMP certification is considered an asset
  • Experienced in industry-leading practices for electronic document management.
  • Proficient in creating work and document management solutions on SharePoint.
  • Experience in designing and implementing automated workflows to streamline processes efficiently.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas for in-depth data analysis.
  • Strong foundation in business analysis with the ability to interpret and evaluate reporting outputs.
  • Power BI: Skilled in designing interactive dashboards and reports for data visualization.
  • Cognos: Experienced in using Cognos for enterprise reporting and data modeling.
  • Tableau: Proficient in creating dynamic visualizations to effectively communicate complex data insights.
