Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic (Helicopters)
Location: Fort Erie, ON (Onsite)
Estimated Duration: 12 Months
Our client in the aerospace sector is looking for an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to support final assembly, modifications, and maintenance on rotary and fixed wing aircraft. This role is hands on on the floor and in the hangar, working closely with engineering, quality, and flight operations to get aircraft safely delivered back to customers.
Role Overview
In this position you will:
Aircraft Assembly, Modifications and Maintenance

Install options, kits, and systems on customer and company aircraft using work instructions, drawings, and maintenance data

Remove and reinstall components and structures as required for paint, interior or avionics work

Carry out visual and functional inspections on structures, systems, and components, documenting defects and recommending corrective action

Perform system checks on fuel, engines, hydraulics, electrics and related systems prior to release back to service

Identify and clear defects found during assembly and maintenance, and record all work performed in the applicable documentation

Support inspections on new and pre owned aircraft to confirm condition, configuration, and compliance with applicable maintenance standards

Help plan the work by confirming that parts, tooling, and documentation are ready before the aircraft enters the hangar

Keep the work area organized, clean, and free of FOD, following company housekeeping and tool control practices

Move aircraft safely around the facility using approved ground handling equipment

Provide guidance to junior technicians and apprentices and act as a lead on assigned projects when required
Testing and Return to Service

Support ground runs and test flights after maintenance, including basic tracking, balancing, and system checks as required

Verify weight and balance data, confirm the aircraft is ready for ground and flight tests, and ensure all required checks are completed

Confirm that systems and equipment operate within the limits specified in technical publications

Complete test and inspection records accurately and communicate any findings to quality and operations

Troubleshoot issues discovered during testing in collaboration with the maintenance and QA teams
Training and Continuous Improvement

Maintain technical currency on aircraft types, procedures, and regulatory requirements through recurrent training and self study

Stay informed on internal procedures and external bulletins or safety communications that affect maintenance practices

Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, and efficiency
Qualifications
Education and Licensing
-
Completion of a recognized Aircraft Maintenance training program

Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license (Canadian license or equivalent, depending on region)
Experience
-
Approximately 3 or more years of experience as a licensed AME in an MRO, operator, or OEM environment

Experience with helicopter or specialized aircraft platforms is an asset

Exposure to both hangar and operational/line maintenance considered an asset
Skills and Attributes

Eligible to work with controlled or regulated aviation related goods (security screening may be required)

Strong ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, drawings, and technical instructions

Solid troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to identifying and resolving defects

Strong awareness of safety practices and willingness to raise concerns and offer suggestions
-
Comfortable working both independently and within a team, with the ability to take the lead on day to day tasks when needed

Able to manage priorities, meet timelines, and work under time pressure in a production environment
-
Proficient with standard office software (Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace)
-
Additional language skills (for example French and English) are an asset
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$50.00 and CA$70.00
