Job Title: Accounting Analyst III
Location: North York, ON (Hybrid)

Position Summary:
The Advisor, General Accounting & Affiliates is responsible for performing complex accounting and financial analysis to support affiliate and corporate reporting functions. This position will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance with US GAAP, and adherence to internal controls and reporting timelines.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct complex accounting analysis and research to support affiliate finance operations.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders across finance and operations to identify and resolve accounting issues.

Lead in assessing accounting implications of new contracts prior to execution.

Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Prepare or review reporting schedules supporting quarterly and annual financial filings and management reporting.

Translate complex accounting issues into clear business impacts for leadership.

Support the implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency and control effectiveness.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and affiliate cost recovery processes.

Provide oversight and support for affiliate operating and capital budgets and forecasts.

Maintain a strong working knowledge of US GAAP and evolving accounting standards.

Contribute to ad hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives as required.

Responsible for identifying and resolving accounting issues to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.

Delivers high-quality financial information and analysis within tight deadlines.

Continuously seeks opportunities for process and system improvements.

Ensures all internal controls and compliance requirements are met.
Working Relationships:

Collaborates with various teams within Finance and Operations to obtain data, resolve issues, and prepare accounting analyses.

Partners with Business Development and Corporate Reporting groups on key deliverables.

Coordinates with internal experts on accounting research and technical interpretations.
Qualifications:
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with a minimum of 4 years of directly related experience.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical accounting matters to non-financial audiences.

Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and sound professional judgment.
-
Willingness to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines.
Preferred:
-
Familiarity with Oracle, SAP, and Hyperion SmartView.

Working knowledge of US GAAP and experience in technical accounting or financial reporting.

Background in public practice accounting or external financial reporting is an asset.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$32.00 and CA$45.00
