Job Title: Business Analyst

Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Business Analyst for their Burnaby office.
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to support business requirement gathering and business process projects, with a focus on Microsoft Visio. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, optimize business processes, and provide operational support as a subject matter expert. This role requires strong analytical skills, expertise in business processes, and the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and system solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain key working processes and tracking spreadsheets
- Facilitate and lead workshops with Subject Matter Experts (SME), impacted stakeholders, and implementation consultants to gain an understanding and agree on process design solutions and identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Produce high quality future state process design solutions, Standard Operating Procedures, and key decision documents.
- Work to ensure viability of process design solutions and that they satisfy business requirements. Conversely, ensure that the business requirements are satisfied by the process design solutions.
- Provide user support and expertise in Microsoft Dynamics and its interaction with business processes, financial controls, and data management.
- Manage user inquiries, system issues, and enhancement requests, ensuring timely resolutions within a defined timeline.
- Support training initiatives by developing user guides, conducting training sessions, and coaching users on using built-in system functionality and process workflows.
- Assess business impacts and define process changes based on program modifications and evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for enhancements.
- Ensure requirements align with end-to-end business processes and support organizational goals.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that system changes meet business needs and functional requirements.
- Analyze business processes and data workflows to ensure accurate reporting and decision-making.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to reporting functionalities.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, business support, or related roles.
- Demonstrated experience in technical writing and creating business documentation.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Visio, including process mapping and workflow documentation.
- Strong experience with SharePoint, including creating and maintaining lists and related content.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related collaboration tools.
- Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with process improvement, operational readiness, or business transformation projects.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between ¤82.00 and ¤101.50
