Job Title: Estimator
Location: Brampton, ON (Remote)
Estimated Duration: 6 Months
Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Estimator to support a nuclear reactor decommissioning and deconstruction project. The successful candidate will assist with project execution planning by preparing estimates related to labour, equipment, tooling, sequencing, and construction/deconstruction activities.
This position is best suited for someone with strong construction estimation experience who understands large-scale project execution environments. Nuclear experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates for decommissioning and deconstruction project activities
- Analyze project requirements, labour needs, equipment, tooling, and execution methodologies
- Support budgeting and project planning activities
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, schedulers, and technical SMEs
- Review project documentation and technical information provided by the project team
- Assist with execution strategy planning and cost forecasting
- Develop and maintain estimating spreadsheets and cost models
- Participate in project planning and coordination meetings
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of estimating experience on industrial, infrastructure, or construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project execution
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience preparing estimates for large-scale projects
- Ability to interpret technical and project documentation
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Eligibility to obtain Reliability Status clearance
- Nuclear or decommissioning experience considered an asset
Work Model
- Primarily remote with occasional meetings in Brampton, Ontario
- Potential limited travel to Chalk River as needed
- Initial 6-month contract with extension potential
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$75.00
