Senior Piping Stress Analyst
Contract (12 months)
Mississauga, Ontario
Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to);
- Prepare and review piping stress models, perform seismic and non- seismic stress analysis /calculations using PEPS in accordance with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Div.1, CSA N285 and ASME B31.1 requirements,
- Prepare and review nuclear and non-nuclear piping support design and perform analysis /calculations using GT STRUDL, ANSYS or Hand Calculation in compliance with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Div.1, CSA N285 and ASME B31.1 requirements,
- Prepare and review design / stress reports for piping systems and supports.
- Prepare and review design documents for CANDU systems of the nuclear power station e.g., design plan, design specifications, technical specifications, system classification list, design requirements and code classification.
- Review piping GA, ISO, support drawings, flow diagrams /P&ID, DBOMs, SCL, and CCA;
- Support the preparation of TSSA registration packages for pressure boundary modifications and interface with regulatory bodies.
- Ensure orderly coordination including reviews of all design input and output documents at all stages of the design;
- Interface with Customer (SNN) engineering representatives and stakeholders as needed.
- Report to management with timely updates on project performance for the assigned scopes or tasks.
- Provide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering related matters
- Attend site visits and meetings, as required.
- Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables in accordance with applicable QA program, codes, standards, regulations, procedures with high emphasis on quality.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Ensure personal qualification records are valid and all training is completed on time.
Qualifications (includes, but not limited to);
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university with a minimum of 10-15 years of experience (minimum 5-8 years in the nuclear industry as Piping Engineer /Analyst working on nuclear piping systems);
- Experience in working on EPC and/or EPCM projects.
- Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and member in good standing.
- Working knowledge of CSA N285, CSA N289, ASME B31.1, ASME Sec III Div. 1 requirements.
- Experience in seismic stress analysis for nuclear class 2, 3 and 6 piping systems using PipeStress:
- Experience is preparing and reviewing Design / Stress Reports for piping systems.
- Experience in designing seismically qualified (NF) supports and piping for nuclear piping systems.
- Experience in pressure boundary systems and TSSA registration.
- Qualified, or eligible for ASME Section III, Appendix XXIII qualification is an asset.
- Knowledge of Pressure Boundary Modifications.
- General working knowledge of nuclear facility mechanical / process equipment and systems.
- Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$85.00
