Job Title: Benchmarking Lead, Capital Projects

Location: Tiverton, ON (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 6 Months

Role Summary
The Benchmarking Lead will help design and implement the enterprise-wide benchmarking and estimating framework for Client's projects. The role blends project controls knowledge, KPI design, estimating insight, Power BI reporting, and cross-functional leadership to improve benchmark-driven decision-making, production-rate libraries, should-cost / should-duration analysis, and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of an enterprise benchmarking framework supported by unified data structures and business rules.
  • Define and implement KPIs for capital projects, including forecasting and actuals reconciliation across physical and financial performance.
  • Support production-rate library design by craft, discipline, activity type, contractor, and project context.
  • Develop should-cost and should-duration methods and support top-down estimating standards for repeatable scopes.
  • Assess Cleopatra benchmarking approach and help determine fit versus alternatives where needed.
  • Drive learning-curve analysis, multi-unit benchmarking, and repeat-scope performance comparisons.
  • Partner with project controls, planning, estimating, and leadership to operationalize benchmark insights in governance and day-to-day execution.
  • Support dashboards, anomaly detection, and variance commentary tied to estimating and project performance.
  • Contribute to business case development and value quantification where relevant.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Experience defining and implementing KPIs for capital projects, including forecasting and actuals reconciliation.
  • Experience with Cleopatra or another project estimation solution.
  • Strong project controls background.
  • Leadership experience with strong communication.
  • Self-starter and critical thinker.
  • Power BI / reporting analytics experience.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Benchmarking program design and implementation.
  • Process automation / solution design.
  • Operationalization / change management.
  • Industrial / asset-intensive experience.
  • Utilities / power generation background.
  • Business case development and value quantification.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$90.00 and CA$120.00
