Job Title: Senior Advisor, Business Intelligence
Location: North York ON (Hybrid 3 days a week Onsite)
Contract Duration: 12 months
Role Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting and providing guidance in the delivery of data and analytics thereby support business decision making to Energy Conservation, Market Development & Business Development, Sales, P&GA and other internal stakeholders. Performing this function involves identifying data sources, guiding junior analysts in the performance of analytics, developing knowledgebase for future, defining data quality standards and work with Technology team to implement data analytics systems. This role will also lead and supporting special analytical projects and explore tools and technologies for analytics.
Specific accountabilities
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the Analytics team, including best practices, recommendations on data sources, tools and technology, and looking at how analytics are implemented in BI
* Actively support the team in gathering requirements, performing the data extraction, cleaning, analyzing, visualizing, validation and delivery of data products
• Work with the technology team to identify, implement and maintain the systems we need to collect, verify, and analyze customer data
• Define standards for data quality, and support the technology team and originating teams in meeting those standards
• Lead and manage multiple projects, lead special BI projects / ad-hoc assignments as required
• Perform as Subject matter expert in customer analytics and educate extended team on learnings across the various platform, data sets, tools and technologies
• Implement efficient processes and governance over data and analytics in BI and across EGI
• Consult on data validation, consolidation and cleansing processes
• Develop detailed business and system knowledge within supported areas. Document data knowledge to help build a robust knowledgebase for future efforts
• Tell data stories to stakeholders by drawing insights from data analysis, bringing insights together to formulate the story and making recommendations for actions
• Explore data with visualization tools and statistical techniques to help make our products better and to improve the experience of our customers
• Lead brainstorming sessions and workshops to assist in identifying and exploring ways to use and apply data to support
• Demonstrate broad business and technical knowledge in resolving problems, project management, identifying opportunities and has a keen awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
• Undergraduate or advanced degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology
• 8+ years of experience in one of the following:
o Business Intelligence, Data analytics, Business Analytics
o Marketing, Market research, Customer care
• Extensive SQL knowledge, adept at queries and joining data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and proficiency with Power BI, MS Visio, GIS
• Strong communication skills in presenting analytical solutions and data findings in understandable forms and ability to communicate complex ideas and technical results in business terms.
• Good writing skills to develop and maintain functional documentation
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information at levels relevant for the business need
• Proven abilities in building collaborative relationships across the organization and with external stakeholders
• Facilitation skills to run workshops when necessary and influence participants in the adoption of analytics in everyday business operations
• Strong agility and comfort around uncertainty and effective in delivering iterative solutions
• Strong project management skills
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$65.00
