Job Title: Contract Specialist – Civil

Contract Professional – Civil Projects
Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Contract Professional –Civil Construction Projects for their Burnaby location
Overview:
The resource will provide post award contract management services on civil underground construction projects.
Role Accountabilities
- Drafting Change Orders, internal change justification documents, formal contract letters
- Detailing Contracts / SoQPs for monthly Progress Payment Estimates
- Progressing monthly invoices
- Ensuring contract details are up to date in SAP (with SAP admin support)
- Provide guidance on contractual rights and obligations, input on contractual disputes
- Work closely with procurement and provide input to draft RFx documents
- Forecast, monitor, and report on contract usage to ensure client’s contract and finance control policies and budget requirements are met.
- Provide guidance and advice to client groups in the sourcing, procurement, and management of goods and services contracts using excellent knowledge of public sector procurement law, and the application of supply chain concepts to get the best value for client
Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent
- A minimum nine (9) years of contract management work experience
- Experience with civil underground construction is preferred
- Communication & Relationship management is key – the ability to work with and influence others (both internal and external stakeholders),
- Organized and detail oriented to ensure contract is kept up to date and aligns with information in SAP.
- Onsite construction experience working directly with Construction Managers on large infrastructure projects is an asset.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$56.50 and CA$70.00
