Mechanical Engineer – Power Generation Site
Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for their Campbell River location.
Overview:
This position is needed to support the creation and revision of engineering drawings associated with Mechanical engineering works for client’s Station Mechanical System projects.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting for generation station Mechanical systems.
- Support the creation and revision of engineering drawings associated with Mechanical engineering works for client’s Station Mechanical System projects.
- Use a variety of computer-aided drafting, modeling and parametric design applications to depict work in two and three dimensions and manage drawings using a computerized drawing records management system.
- Use drawings for site preparations and layouts, facility construction, and electrical infrastructure design and installation including details of equipment, assemblies, and components.
- Create customized drawings for non-standard engineering and design projects.
Experience:
- A minimum eight (8) years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
- P.Eng
- Familiarity and experience with best industry practices for commissioning of large gates and hoist systems, including precision alignment.
- Good judgement related to considering potential inadvertent impacts of testing on other equipment, and ability to adapt testing to avoid these risks.
- Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting of instrumentation for wire rope hoists.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$73.50 and CA$91.00
