Job Title: Project Control Specialist
Duration: 12-month contract
Location: Tiverton, ON (Hybrid)
Summary:
Project Controls Specialist provides project controls expertise to develop the project cost control baseline, implement project change cost impact, calculate Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Forecast at Completion (FAC), and monitor/analyze/report for assigned projects and portfolios
Job Responsibilities:
- Chairs and attends project cost and schedule review and coordination meetings.
- Communicates cost and schedule status and action plans to the Project Manager.
- Communicates (with OEL support) the schedule plan and applicable discipline deliverable/milestone dates to discipline team members.
- Prepares DQ/DQ Revisions/DVN’s in order to communicate schedule and cost commitments to the customer.
- Manages the weekly and monthly cost reporting activities including but not limited to DED cashflow projections, supplier cashflows, supplier accruals and supplier invoices to maintain overall design forecast accuracy to < 10% variance.
- Communicates potential commitment and cost overspend issues/risks/barriers in accordance with the 5 day rule.
- Prepares and processes project Hold, Standby, Re-activation and Closeout requests as required.
- Reviews project controls reports weekly for all responsible projects to ensure that adverse cost and schedule conditions are being identified and actioned.
- Supports presentation of DQ/DQ Revisions/DVN’s at CCB for internal Design approval.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (e.g. Engineering, Engineering Technology), combined with specialized project controls experience in an engineering/construction management organization; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$35.00 and CA$60.00
