Project Manager – Distribution Remediation Projects  

Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a  Project Manager for their Burnaby location for a one year term

Overview:

Our client is looking for a Project Management professional to support  the distribution (low voltage ) safety  remediation program

Responsibilities:
 

  • Plan, direct, and report on utility distribution project activities by consistently monitoring project benefits, resources and status and creating documents such as project plans, action logs, communication plans, status reports and post implementation reviews so that the project is implemented as planned.
  • Develop project plans and risk management plans for medium to high risk and highly complex utility distribution connection  projects and for effectively  manage project throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage multiple activities effectively such as quality assurance, engineering, First Nations and stakeholder engagement, communication, regulatory approvals, procurement, planning and controls, construction management, pre-commissioning, employee relations, and safety by using project management principles in monitoring progress and establishing standards for implementation to keep the project within allotted time and budget.
  • Complete project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks by using advanced skills in Microsoft Office as well as project management programs to fulfill client’s business needs.

Experience:
 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or related discipline
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience.
  • 5+ years of Distribution  technical  experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation, preferred
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
  • Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken
  • Communicate effectively (orally and in writing) to different levels within the organization to report on program progress and escalate issues.
  • Class 5 driver's license

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$61.50 and CA$76.00
