Job Title: Business Analyst (Specialist)

Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 10 Months

Our client is a leader in the responsible development and reliable and safe operation of North American energy infrastructure. They are one of the continent’s largest providers of gas storage and related services.
 
They are currently looking for an Business Analyst (Specialist) for Calgary, AB location.

Key Responsibilities:
 
• Configure, enhance, and support Workday modules including HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Learning, Payroll, and Integrations.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for business stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service and building trusted relationships.
• Facilitate discovery sessions, conduct interviews, and capture business requirements with clarity and precision.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements, technical specifications, user stories, and configuration changes.
• Analyze current and future-state processes; recommend improvements grounded in both Workday and HR best practices.
• Support new feature enablement in Workday
• Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Prepare and maintain documentation including requirements, configuration decisions, process flows, and support materials.
• Partner with technical teams on integration updates, data flows, and error resolution.
 
Required Qualifications:
 
• 5+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience, particularly in HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Payroll, and Integrations.
• Strong HR functional knowledge across core HR operations
• Proven ability to gather complex business requirements and translate them into actionable technical designs or configurations.
• Outstanding customer-facing skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Experience analyzing business processes and recommending improvements that balance user needs, system design, and scalability.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation abilities.
 
Nice to Have:
• Workday certifications in HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Payroll, or Integrations.
• Experience with Workday EIBs, BIRT, Studio, or advanced reporting.
• Background in HR systems transformation or implementation projects.
• Familiarity with Agile tools and methodologies (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$75.00
