Electrical Distribution Engineer – Regional Distribution Projects
Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are presently looking for an Electrical Engineer for Regional Distribution projects for their Vernon BC location
Overview:
Resource would provide engineering services related to overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
Responsibilities:
- Support operations, maintenance, repair, replacement and expansion of the client Distribution System.
- Investigate, analyze and solve a variety of engineering problems, including the more challenging and unusual, by developing engineering techniques, devising new approaches and/or applying existing criteria in new ways
- Provide technical guidance, instruction, and assistance related to the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and modifications of equipment
- Broad range of distribution related skills including planning, system engineering, protection engineering, design, and project management
Qualifications:
- A minimum eight (8) years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.
- P.Eng
- Permit to Practice
- Degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by universities in Canada
- Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge in both Overhead – and underground electric utility distribution systems operating at voltages at or below 35kV including automation
- Broad range of distribution related skills including planning, system engineering, protection engineering, design, and project management
- Demonstrated ability to perform system analysis
- Knowledge on how to perform load and short circuit studies
- Good written and oral communication skills are essential
- Class 5 DL
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$75.25 and CA$93.00
