Job Title: Sr Tech Services Engineer Location: North York, ON (Hybrid)

Overview
We are seeking a technically skilled engineer to independently review, assess, and advise on complex energy efficiency projects across the commercial and institutional sectors. This role requires strong analytical capabilities to complete advanced engineering calculations, as well as the ability to guide delivery teams, provide technical oversight, and support continuous improvement of internal tools and processes.

Key Accountabilities

Review and assess technical solutions, completing detailed engineering and energy efficiency calculations for commercial and institutional clients.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to delivery team members and junior engineers.

Support the improvement, training, and application of internal energy analysis tools and project calculators.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders at all levels to build strong, long-term working relationships.

Conduct site walk-throughs with delivery teams to identify, evaluate, and screen energy conservation opportunities, including building and thermal system audits.

Ensure accuracy and verifiability of project savings calculations, supporting audit and verification processes as needed.

Work closely with internal departments to ensure project review requirements are met.

Deliver technical training to teams, as assigned.

Contribute to company-wide goals by meeting energy efficiency and conservation targets, while upholding safety standards.

Partner with delivery teams, evaluation specialists, and other technical staff to provide guidance on energy efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications
Required:
-
Post-secondary degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical preferred).
-
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario or eligibility for equivalent registration.
-
7+ years’ experience in project engineering, technical sales, or project management.

Experience with energy and process efficiency projects in commercial/institutional environments.

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, heating/cooling systems, and ventilation technologies.

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; proven ability to translate project scopes into accurate calculations.

Demonstrated leadership and influence without direct authority.

Excellent time management, able to balance multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred:
-
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP).

Experience with energy efficiency initiatives in industrial/manufacturing settings.

Knowledge of building codes, equipment standards, and Ontario/Canadian regulations.

Familiarity with automation systems, controls, boilers, furnaces, heat pumps, combined heat & power (CHP), district energy, and renewable energy systems.

Understanding of greenhouse gas emissions and regulatory frameworks.
Working Conditions
-
Primarily office-based with light physical and sensory effort.
-
Regular site visits to customer facilities to assess opportunities and support projects.

Occasional travel within Ontario, including overnight stays.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$70.00
