Job Title: Lead Auditor (Nuclear)

Location: Edmonton, AB (Remote)

Estimated Duration: 12 months

Job Summary

The Lead Auditor is responsible for planning, performing, and reporting audits to ensure compliance with nuclear quality assurance standards, codes, and regulatory requirements. The role requires technical knowledge, auditing experience, and the ability to effectively assess and communicate quality assurance performance across engineering, construction, and operational functions.


Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute audits in accordance with applicable nuclear standards and regulations such as CSA N299, CSA N286, ASME NQA-1, and 10CFR50 Appendix B.

  • Evaluate quality assurance program elements and assess compliance with applicable procedures and codes.

  • Conduct audit interviews and document findings clearly, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of nonconformances.

  • Maintain accurate records of audit activities and report results to management.

  • Participate in audit planning activities, including scope definition, team selection, and scheduling.

  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to audit team members as required.

  • Apply auditing techniques, including evaluation, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten (10) qualification credits across education, experience, certifications, and management assessment.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; preference for engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, or quality assurance disciplines.

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction, operation, or maintenance; additional credit for experience in nuclear QA auditing.

  • Certification in engineering or quality (e.g., P.Eng, Certified Quality Auditor/Manager) is an asset.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, evaluated and attested by Quality Manager.

  • Completion of training in relevant nuclear codes, audit planning, and quality program elements.

  • Demonstrated leadership, analytical skills, and maturity, with performance recognized by employer.
